Blitz, the retired Investigative Services Unit K-9, passed away Sept. 22, 2022.
He graduated the K-9 Academy and the Air Scan K-9 Academy in January 2015. He was then assigned to High Desert State Prison. After nearly six years providing service to the public, Blitz retired in November 2020.
Unfortunately, Blitz was diagnosed with cancer and after a brave fight, lost his battle.
“Blitz was instrumental in numerous narcotics cases for the State and High Desert State Prison,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
The prison will hold a private observance recognizing Blitz’s achievements and career.
