Officer Hector Vallejo passes away

Correctional Officer Hector Vallejo passed away Sept. 30, 2022. He began his career in October 2005 as a cadet at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center. After graduating the Academy, he reported to California Correctional Center (CCC) on February 25, 2006.

In January 2009, he transferred to Mule Creek State Prison. A year later, he returned to CCC, where he remained until his untimely passing.

“Hector was loved and admired by all who encountered him. His kind demeanor and strong work ethics made him a joy to work with at all times. CCC would like to extend our sincere condolences to Hector’s family,” according to a CCC statement.

“As we reflect on memories of Hector, we remember his positive attitude and contagious smile. Those who have been fortunate enough to have worked with him, know what a wonderful partner he made and how his joyful demeanor was unmatched. Officer Vallejo will be missed.”

He is survived by two sons, three brothers and four sisters. He was buried at Cherokee Memorial Park cemetery in Lodi.
