Retired Correctional Sergeant Jack Mohler passed away April 3, 2023.
Mohler started his career with the department in June 1995 at the R.A. McGee Correctional Training Center. After graduating the Basic Correctional Officer Academy in July 1995, he reported to the Correctional Training Facility.
In March 1998, Mohler transferred to Salinas Valley State Prison. He promoted to sergeant in January 2005.
Mohler retired from Salinas Valley State Prison in October 2015, completing 20 years of service with CDCR.
“He was always a supportive colleague with an infectious laugh,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
