Retired Correctional Officer Michael LaFever passed away May 3, 2023. He began his career with the department in March 1997 as a Medical Technical Assistant at CSP-Los Angeles County.
LaFever transferred to California Correctional Institution in May 1997. He returned to CSP-Los Angeles County in November 2000. In March 2002, he transferred to Chuckwalla Valley State Prison.
He became a correctional officer in September 2006 at Chuckawalla Valley State Prison where he remained until retiring in March 2019.
“Our sincerest condolences to Michael’s family, loved ones, and friends,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
