Retired Correctional Officer Brian Dunphy passed away May 19, 2023. He began his CDCR career in July 1986 as a cadet at the RA McGee Correctional Training Center in Galt.
After graduating the Basic Correctional Officer Academy, he reported to California Correctional Institution (CCI) in Tehachapi in August 1986.
Dunphy transferred to Wasco State Prison-Reception Center in November 1991 where he remained retiring in November 2009.
“Please keep the Dunphy family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
Funeral services will be held at 1:15 p.m. on June 2 at the Bakersfield National Cemetery, 30338 E. Bear Mountain Blvd. in Arvin.
