The California Men’s Colony (CMC) Honor Guard honored fallen officers during the annual San Luis Obispo County Peace Officers Memorial.

The Paso Robles observance on May 17 honored eight California peace officers who lost their lives. They were from various departments who died in the line of duty in 2022.

During the service, the names and ranks of each fallen officer was recited. Then, a bell was tolled, signaling the end of that officer’s watch.

As the sound of the bell reverberated, honor guards from CMC and other police agencies paid tribute by presenting a single red rose. They also offered one final salute to show respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Agencies who suffered the loss of a peace officer in the line of duty in 2022 included:

  • Elk Grove Police Department
  • Huntington Beach Police Department
  • Salinas Police Department
  • Department of Homeland Security
  • Los Angeles Police Department
  • El Monte Police Department
  • and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The CMC Honor Guard honoring the fallen were Officers A. Magdaleno and G. Arguijo along with Sergeants R. Regalado and T. Lariba.
