Terry Bartholomew, retired supervisor, passes away

Terry Bartholomew, retired Supervisor of Building Trades, passed away July 2, 2023.

He began his state career with the Department of Developmental Services’ Fairview State Hospital in May 1987.

In March 1989, he transferred to Avenal State Prison as a painter. Bartholomew then transferred to Pleasant Valley State Prison in October 1994, promoting to Painter II.

He promoted again to Painter III, transferring to Salinas Valley State Prison. He remained at the prison, again promoting, this time to Supervisor of Building Trades in July 2009.

He retired in 2012 after 25 years of state service.

“We extend our condolences to the Bartholomew family,” according to a statement issued by Salinas Valley State Prison. “Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.”
