Joseph Duty, a retired Associate Warden (AW), passed away Aug. 13, 2023. He began his career with the department as a cadet at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center in January 1998.
After graduating the Basic Correctional Officer Academy, he was appointed to Pleasant Valley State Prison in February 1998. He remained at the institution, promoting through the ranks, until retiring in February 2022.
“Joseph will be greatly missed by all who worked with him. Please keep the Duty family in your thoughts and prayers,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
