FSP Summer Palooza unites staff, incarcerated

Folsom State Prison's (FSP) Summer Palooza featured music, food, and games.

Summer Palooza, Folsom State Prison’s (FSP) recent transformative California Model event, united the incarcerated population, volunteers, and staff.

Spirited games forged bonds and helped break down barriers between staff and the incarcerated population.

More than 850 hamburgers, all donated to the FSP Summer Palooza event, were enjoyed by everyone who attended.

A highlight of the day was a musical performance by Deep Heart.

This event serves as a powerful reminder that even behind prison walls, the human spirit has the capacity to thrive through unity, compassion, and the common thread of our shared humanity.

“This is a chapter I never thought it would come to,” said Ashish, one of the incarcerated participants. “I never saw this coming. It’s a good change.”
