California Men’s Colony (CMC) held its 2023 Memorial Wall ceremony to remember fallen institution staff. In all, CMC added the names of 12 former staff members to the wall.
Also attending were family members of two honorees, former Correctional Officers Roger Offill and Marcus Drake. When they passed away in 2022, both were assigned to CMC.
During the 2023 CMC Memorial Wall ceremony, attending family members placed their loved one’s nameplate on the memorial wall.
Fallen staff without a representative at the ceremony had their names placed on the memorial wall by CMC’s honor guard.
CMC leadership attending included:
- Warden Danny Samuel
- Chief Deputy Warden Nathan Gaughan
- California Chaplain Corps representative Jim Asselin
- CMC Honor Guard members
- Lt. David Young.
They spoke at the ceremony, by providing remarks and reading the names of honorees. Staff offered prayers for those in attendance and for those no longer with us.
The memorial wall ensures members of CMC’s family are never forgotten.
