Gena Jones was appointed Warden at California Health Care Facility (CHCF) in September. She has served as acting Warden since April 2022.
Jones started her career at CDCR in 1997 as a Correctional Officer at California State Prison-Solano (SOL). In 2006, she promoted to Correctional Counselor I at SOL and to Correctional Counselor II at Contract Beds-California Out-of-State Correctional Facilities in 2011.
She promoted to Captain in 2012 at Headquarters in the Classification Unit, overseeing the Administrative Segregation/Security Housing Unit/Security Threat Group group.
In 2014, she transferred to California State Prison-Sacramento, where she continued her upward mobility and career goals by promoting to Associate Warden in 2016 and Chief Deputy Warden in 2019.
