DAPO hosts regional law enforcement leaders

Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO) hosted the Sacramento Regional Law Enforcement Executive breakfast. DAPO held the meeting at the California Prison Industry Authority (CALPIA) Green Valley Training Center. Command-level staff representing law enforcement agencies throughout the greater Sacramento metropolitan area attended the meeting.

DAPO Director Jason Johnson opened the meeting. He spoke about his vision for partnering with other agencies in the Sacramento area. Director Johnson expressed his desire to make DAPO a leader in community supervision.

Capitol District supervisors gave presentations on various topics about their area of coverage in the Sacramento. After DAPO’s presentations, a roundtable discussion occurred identifying issues faced by local law enforcement.

Issues discussed included, but were not limited to:

  • individuals driving their vehicles recklessly (i.e. sideshows)
  • fentanyl overdoses
  • electric vehicles for patrol duty.

The event allowed DAPO executives to meet colleagues in the area and learn about the challenges facing law enforcement today. Attendees met face-to-face with Director Johnson for the first time.

Director Johnson will continue attending meetings throughout the state to highlight DAPO’s role with law enforcement and improve upon these partnerships.

Following the meeting, several executives from local agencies were given a tour of Folsom State Prison.
