Felix Figueroa, retired correctional captain, passed away Sept. 21, 2023. He began his correctional career in January 1994.
After graduating the Basic Correctional Officer Academy, Figueroa reported to Ironwood State Prison. In March 1999, he promoted to correctional sergeant at Chuckawalla Valley State Prison.
Figueroa promoted to correctional lieutenant at California Institution for Men in August 2006.
A year later, he transferred to California Institution for Women (CIW). In April 2013, while at CIW, he promoted to correctional captain.
In September 2014, he transferred to California Rehabilitation Center, where he remained until retired in December 2021.
“Our sincerest condolences are extended to the Figueroa family,” according to a statement issued by CRC. “Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.”
