Dwayne Harlow, retired CCIII, passes away

Dwayne Harlow, a retired correctional counselor III (CCIII), passed away Oct. 16, 2023. He worked for CDCR from 1994 until he retired in 2021.

Harlow began his correctional career as a cadet at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center in February 1994. After graduating the Basic Correctional Officer Academy, he reported to Ironwood State Prison in April 1994.

In May 2011, Harlow became a correctional counselor, promoting to correctional counselor II specialist in December 2014.

He promoted to CCIII in January 2020. After a successful career, Harlow retired in December 2021.

“He will be remembered for his dedication, leadership and his friendship amongst his peers. Our deepest condolences are extended to his family, friends and partners during this difficult time,” according to a statement issued by Ironwood State Prison.
