Dennis Burgi, a retired correctional sergeant, passed away Nov. 8, 2023.
He began his career with the department in June 1985 at California Correctional Institution (CCI) as an officer.
Burgi promoted to sergeant in April 1990 at CSP-Corcoran. He then returned to CCI where he remained until retiring in December 2005.
“CCI sends their thoughts and prayers to the Burgi family, friends and coworkers he met along his career,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
