Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO) San Gabriel Valley District dedicated their October Women’s Empowerment meeting to a tea party. In collaboration with Pomona GEO Day Reporting Center (DRC), the event promoted Breast Cancer Awareness.
DAPO District Administrator Tiffany Johnson opened the tea party event with a welcome speech. The festivities included fellowship, tea, treats and games. Every month the meetings provide the women a safe space where they can open up and share their needs, ideas and concerns.
“The tea party is a secure and inclusive space where we can gather and celebrate and create opportunities for women to thrive and succeed. It’s a time for us to acknowledge and appreciate each other’s talents, accomplishments, and inspirations.” said Mechelle Siles, case manager supervisor at Pomona GEO DRC.
