Retired Correctional Officer Douglas Pruitt passed away Nov. 29, 2023.
Pruitt began his career at the Academy in July 2001 and started at San Quentin in March 2002. He remained at the institution until retiring in December 2018.
“He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Our sincerest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time,” according to a statement issued by San Quentin Rehabilitation Center.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Skyview Memorial Lawn, 200 Rollingwood Drive, Vallejo. A reception will immediately follow at Bella Siena restaurant, 127 1st Street, Benicia.
