Danny Schnacker, a correctional officer at Pelican Bay State Prison, passed away Feb. 5, 2024.
He began his career with the department in 2002 after graduating the Basic Correctional Officer Academy.
He reported to Pelican Bay in October 2002 and remained at the prison until his passing.
“Many knew Danny both personally and professionally. Danny was respected by his peers and a well-loved member of the Pelican Bay State Prison family. He was a good friend, partner, and a good human being. He will be missed by all. Pelican Bay State Prison extends our most sincere condolences to Correctional Officer Danny’s family, friends and loved ones,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
