Officer Allan Roper passes away

For nearly 40 years, Correctional Officer Allan Roper helped CDCR fulfill its public safety mission. He passed away Feb. 5, 2024. He was employed at San Quentin Rehabilitation Center.

Roper began his career as a correctional officer in April 1984, serving the department for 39 years and nine months at the time of his passing.

“Everyone who had the honor of knowing and working with Officer Roper will miss his positive attitude and humor. Our sincerest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him,” according to a statement issued by San Quentin Rehabilitation Center.
