After completing 13 weeks of training, CDCR welcomed 230 new correctional officers at the academy graduation of class 2-24A in Galt.
After all their hard work, families and friends attended the graduation ceremony on March 1.
The keynote address was delivered by Associate Director Matthew Atchley, who captivated the audience with his motivational and powerful speech.
“The new sworn peace officers now stand prepared to serve at institutions across the state, equipped with the knowledge and dedication necessary to uphold the mission of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation,” according to a statement issued by academy staff.
The cadets underwent rigorous training in the Basic Correctional Officer Academy at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center.
