Leu Saephan, a retired correctional officer from Mule Creek State Prison, passed away March 30, 2024.

He began his career with the department in June 2003, spending his entire career at Mule Creek. Saephan retired in January 2021.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Saephan family during this time of mourning,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
Funeral services will be held on April 16. The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. and the services will be held at 10 a.m. at Herberger Family Elk Grove Funeral Chapel, 910 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove.
