The Division of Adult Institutions Director Ronald Broomfield recently visited the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility (SATF) and State Prison at Corcoran.
Broomfield was very busy and made the most of his visit to SATF. He started the day off by meeting with the SATF California Model Resource Team, answering questions and touring their activity work area.
Broomfield also met with Facility F Service Corps Facilitators. He thanked them for their hard work and taking the initiative to do something that hasn’t been done before.
He also attended a Guiding Rage Into Power (GRIP) program meeting. Broomfield spoke to those who attended the meeting, stressing the importance of the program.
The GRIP program is a comprehensive, year-long intensive trauma-informed class designed to transform lives within their facility. This program empowers students to halt their violent behavior, develop emotional intelligence, practice mindfulness, and gain a profound understanding of the impact on the victims and survivors.
Broomfield told the group he is passionate about their program and what they do.
