California Health Care Facility hosted its first Pride Banquet June 26 to recognize and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ incarcerated population.
More than 75 members of the incarcerated LGBTQIA+ community and their allies attended the event. The Pride Banquet started with songs followed by a history of those who have advocated for equality and fought for the rights of inclusion for the LGBTQIA+ community.
The inaugural California Health Care Facility Pride Banquet ended with a feast donated by a local community organization. Staff also attended including Warden G. Jones and Community Resources Office employees as well as those from custody and management.
