The California Health Care Facility (CHCF) in Stockton hosted its first reentry resources fair July 31.

The fair invited organizations offering services to assist the incarcerated population with their rehabilitation journey and to provide reentry resources for when they parole.

The fair featured 27 resource tables with information from:

  • Insight Garden Program
  • Jack Tone Adult School
  • CHCF Case Records, Mental Health, Medical, and Nursing
  • Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous
  • Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment
  • Cal Vet
  • Anti-Recidivism Coalition
  • Little Manilla Rising
  • Division of Adult Parole Operations
  • Board of Parole Hearings
  • Uncommon Law
  • Center Point
  • Prevail
  • Humane Hospice Prison Project
  • WestCare
  • and CHCF community resources office.

CHCF staff along with more than 400 incarcerated persons attended the reentry resources fair.

Special guest Adam Hinds, who was previously incarcerated, shared his story. He emphasized the importance of starting their rehabilitation journey now and not waiting until parole.

Incarcerated persons who attended the fair expressed gratitude to the vendors, saying they feel better prepared to parole.
