David Erwin, a correctional sergeant at Calipatria State Prison, passed away Oct. 15, 2024.
Erwin began his career with the department in May 2000 at Calipatria. He promoted to sergeant in April 2007, where he remained until his passing.
“Erwin was a friend to many and loved his family dearly,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
