Two incarcerated individuals at Avenal State Prison (ASP) ranked in the top 10 in the Chad 1000X training challenge.
Thanks to coach B. Eskew, several incarcerated persons took part in the rigorous challenge. Chad 1000X is held in honor of Chad Wilkinson, a 20-year Navy veteran who died by suicide. The challenge raises awareness for suicide prevention.
The challenge involves timed 1,000 box step-ups. Some participants contacted their families to have them digitally signed up on the website to participate in the worldwide challenge. Out of a 1,000 worldwide cross-fitters, two ASP participants, Adam Baker and Eddie Michael Razo, made it into the top 10 rankings.
All the Chad 1000X ASP participants said they were happy to be a part of something on such a grand scale. They were even happier to see their fellow cross-fitters achieve those top 10 rankings.
Learn more about the challenge on their website.
