The Correctional Training Facility (CTF) at Soledad partnered with Freedom Through Liberation and the Freedom Collective Leadership Program for the Hot August Nights Car & Bike Show. The Aug. 8 show was held on Facility B for the incarcerated population from facilities A and B.
Several local car clubs participated in the event, bringing a variety of classic cars, custom vehicles, and motorcycles for display. The event provided the population an opportunity to interact with community volunteers. This also allows them to participate in an organized activity outside of their normal routine.
Events like the Hot August Nights Car & Bike Show offers the population an opportunity to engage in a positive activity.
Bringing community organizations and volunteers into the institution also helps support rehabilitation, improve morale, and provide experiences that can have a positive impact on the overall institutional environment.
“Events like this provide an opportunity to bring our community partners into the institution and offer something different for the population,” said acting Warden C. Rojas. “We appreciate the organizations, volunteers and local car clubs for taking time to participate and help make this event possible.”
