Arthur Seitz, a retired correctional lieutenant, passed away Dec. 13, 2024. He worked for the department for 26 years.

He began his career with the department as a permanent intermittent correctional officer in March 1985 at California Men’s Colony. After three months, Seitz became full time correctional officer.
In January 1999, he promoted to correctional sergeant. Then, in August 2007, he promoted again to correctional lieutenant. He retired in November 2011.
Seitz spent his entire career at California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Seitz family during this time of mourning,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
Funeral services have not yet been announced.
