Herman Santaella, retired M&S supervisor

Herman Santaella, a retired materials and stores (M&S) supervisor, passed away Feb. 5, 2025.

He began his career with the department in April 1995 at North Kern State Prison.

Santaella remained at the same institution until he retired in November 2020.

“Herman was highly respected by his peers and a well-loved member of the North Kern State Prison family. He was a trusting friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know and work with him. Our sincerest condolences are offered to his family,” according to a statement issued by the institution.

Funeral services will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Feb. 18, at Life House Delano, 1725 11th Ave., Delano.
