Pablo Linares, a correctional officer at North Kern State Prison, passed away Feb. 9, 2025. He worked for CDCR for nearly 29 years.

Linares began his career with the department in September 1996 at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center.
After graduating the Basic Correctional Officer Academy, Linares reported to the Correctional Training Facility at Soledad.
He then transferred to North Kern State Prison in February 1998, where he remained until his passing.
“Pablo will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to work with him. Pablo was highly admired and appreciated by his peers. He was a trusting partner to all. At this time of mourning, please keep the Linares family in your thoughts and prayers,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
Services are as follows:
- Viewing will be held from 3-7 p.m., Feb. 20, at Myers Funeral Service and Crematory, 248 North E Street, Porterville.
- Funeral will be held at noon, Feb. 21, at Meyers Funeral Service and Crematory.
- Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Hillcrest Cemetery, 1013 E. Olive Ave., Porterville.
