The Cal State San Bernardino Reentry Initiative (CSRI) held a Second Chance Expo April 3, offering supervised persons in the San Bernardino and Riverside County areas the opportunity to connect with reentry services.
Over 65 local agencies and reentry programs participated in the Second Chance Expo.
“This event is amazing – helping them get back into the community, providing them resources in anything that they need to do,” said Shalise from the innovAge PACE program.
Various organizations, including Medi-Cal and Medicaid, were present to help streamline the reentry process.

Participants enjoyed free haircuts and meals from In-N-Out as they reconnected and celebrated their achievements.
Teresa Kendall, a participant with the Family Assistance Next Step Reentry Program, now works full-time at Gibson House following her release.
“This is an amazing opportunity for an event,” said Kendall. “Before, we would get out (we were given) $200 and there was no support, no services. This right here is a game changer.”
