After receiving staff-donated clothing, Female Community Reentry Program (FCRP) participants in Stockton are better equipped for job interviews.
The professional and business casual clothing was donated by CDCR and California Correctional Health Care Services staff.
The staff donation to the FCRP included both brand-new items with tags still on and gently used clothing such as pantsuits, slacks, dress blouses, shoes, and handbags.
Boosting confidence through clothing

“A lot of us come to FCRP without nice clothes,” said participant Vanessa Martioni. “These new outfits will help us enter the workforce and open the door to professional opportunities.”
Staff and organizers witnessed the excitement as participants explored the new wardrobe options as they sifted through the donated clothing.
Dress for success
Organizers said many women arrive at reentry facilities with limited access to professional clothing.
“These donations give participants the chance to show up to interviews and jobs with confidence,” said Karina Callazo, staff services manager with the Division of Rehabilitative Programs. “It’s about making sure they feel prepared for the next chapter of their lives.”
Staff support reentry efforts

Launched by CDCR’s Division of Rehabilitative Programs, the donation drive provided three drop locations for staff from April 1 – 21, 2025.
With the donations, staff across CDCR and CCHCS locations, provided reentry support to women transitioning back into their communities and the workforce.
Gratitude and impact

Participants expressed gratitude, saying the new outfits would help them feel prepared and confident during interviews and in the workplace.
“Thank you, CDCR,” yelled the ladies as they posed for a group photo.
Lasting effect on confidence and morale
Staff called the event a success, pointing to the positive impact it had on morale and motivation.
“Allowing these ladies to dress like everyone else out in the community, makes all the difference in the world,” said Correctional Counselor III Terren Hinojosa.
