Lucy Zazueta-Villanueva, retired staff services manager, passed away June 16, 2025. She worked for the department for 30 years.

She began her career with the department in January 1986 at California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) at Norco as an office assistant II. In October, she transferred to backgrounds before being promoted to CRC as a personnel specialist in October 1989.
In July 1995, she promoted to personnel supervisor. Then she promoted again three years later in 1998 as a staff services analyst.
She was promoted in December 2001 to associate governmental program analyst then quickly promoted to instructional personnel officer II in December 2002.
She was promoted to staff services manager in June 2008 where she remained until retiring in November 2016.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Zazueta-Villanueva family, loved ones, and friends during this time of mourning,” according to CRC.
