Melanie Annette Hill, a retired correctional sergeant from San Quentin Rehabilitation Center, passed away July 25, 2025.

Hill began her career with the department as a medical technical assistant (MTA) at California Medical Facility in Vacaville in September 1986. She transferred to San Quentin in February 1990 and promoted to Senior MTA in August 1993.
Hill then transferred to correctional sergeant in March 2007, and retiring in May of the same year.
“She will be deeply missed by all who have had the privilege of knowing her. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Funeral services have already been held.
