
Kern Valley State Prison (KVSP) is mourning Correctional Officer Austin Sutton who passed away Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025. Services will be held Dec. 19 (details listed below).
Sutton began his career with the department as a cadet at the Basic Correctional Officer Academy in October 2022. After graduating, he reported to KVSP in January 2023.
“Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones. Austin will be missed by his fellow co-workers and all who knew him,” according to KVSP.
Services will be held at noon Dec. 19 at the Elks Lodge, 16694 Wasco Ave., Wasco.
