Dina Magee, retired correctional officer

Dina Magee, a retired correctional officer, passed away Oct. 22, 2025. Magee worked for the department for more than 20 years.

She began her career at San Quentin as a seasonal clerk in November 1989.

She was then promoted to assistant clerk a month later. By March 1990, she promoted to office assistant (typing). Magee transferred to California Medical Facility in Vacaville as an office assistant (general) in October 1990. In October 1996, she promoted to health records technician.

She reported to the academy as a cadet three years later. After graduating, she reported to San Quentin as a correctional officer in July 1999, where she remained until retiring in May 2020.

“She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time,” according to San Quentin.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 29, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2010 E. Taber Ave., Fairfield. A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 30, at Joseph Nelson Community Center, 611 Village Drive, Suisun City.
