Renato Lumaban, a retired correctional supervising cook, passed away in October 2025, according to San Quentin Rehabilitation Center.

Lumaban began his career with San Quentin as a cook specialist II in July 1999. He was promoted to correctional supervising cook in July 2007. He then retired in July 2010.
“He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time,” according to the institution.
Services have already been held.
