Peer Support Program leaders and administrators from across the state recently came together for a two-day conference focused on connection, communication, and care. The event gave team leaders a chance to share experiences, build skills, and learn new ways to support staff during crises.
“Sometimes just being there in silence makes all the difference. You understand what I am going through, you understand what’s it’s like to work in a correctional setting, and you understand what it’s like to work out in the streets as another parole agent” said Division of Adult Institutions Director Gena Jones.
