Travis Clements, a correctional officer at High Desert State Prison (HDSP), passed away Nov. 2, 2025. He worked for the department for a quarter century.

Clements began his career with the department as a cadet at the academy in April 1999. After graduating, he reported to Salinas Valley State Prison as a correctional officer. He transferred to California Correctional Center in Susanville in January 2001 and then to HDSP in July 2002.
Clements remained at High Desert until his untimely passing.
“Travis will be remembered for his contagious smile, being a great partner, dedication to his family and his prestigious everlasting devotion to the Lassen County Susanville Football League. Our deepest condolences are extended to his family and friends during this difficult time,” according to a statement issued by HDSP.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, at Jensen Hall at the Lassen County Fairgrounds, 175 Russell Ave., Susanville.
