Sharon King, a correctional case records analyst at Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP) in Ione, passed away Nov. 18, 2025.

She began her career with the department in June 2007 as an office assistant at MCSP. During her 17-year career at the prison, she promoted her way up to her current position.
“Sharon was known for her professionalism, integrity, and unwavering commitment to supporting the mission of our institution. She brought a steady presence, exceptional knowledge, and sincere compassion for her work,” according to MCSP. “Her contributions not only strengthened our records operations but also positively impacted staff across multiple departments. Sharon will be deeply missed as a colleague, mentor, and friend. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, and all who were close to her.”
