Wasco State Prison-Reception Center (WSP-RC) mourns the passing of Information Technology Supervisor II Juan Carlos Garcia Espinoza. He passed away Nov. 25, 2025.

He began his state career as an associate program analyst at the Atascadero State Hospital in December 2006.
In March 2010, he transferred to CDCR headquarters as an associate information systems analyst.
Three years later, he continued his career with an appointment as a staff information systems analyst until June 2015, when he became a senior analyst/supervisor.
Then, in January 2018, Garcia Espinoza was promoted to information technology supervisor II at WSP-RC.
He remained in this position until his passing.
“Juan Carlos will be missed by many who knew and worked with him throughout his career,” according to WSP-RC.
