CTF‑Soledad hosts two staff wellness events

CTF-Soledad staff listen to a wellness presentation in Facility D at the institution on Dec. 3, 2025, Soledad, California.

The Correctional Training Facility (CTF) at Soledad held two staff wellness events Wednesday, Dec. 3, as part of its efforts to support staff health, resilience, and professional wellbeing.

These events included an onsite staff wellness screening facilitated by Montage Health and a staff-only presentation from Powerful Days titled, “The Science of Forgiveness: A Transformative Journey of Healing and Freedom.”

CTF staff wellness screening with Montage Health

CTF, in collaboration with Montage Health, offered comprehensive health screenings at Facility D (South Facility). The purpose of this event was to provide staff with convenient access to preventive health services and early identification of potential risk factors.

Screening services included:

  • Body composition assessment
  • Blood pressure check
  • Fasting blood test (glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides)
  • Non-fasting glucose and cholesterol test
  • Health coaching and wellness resources

Correctional staff experience occupational demands that may contribute to increased health risks. Routine wellness assessments support early detection and allow individuals to take proactive steps in managing their health.

Resilience, wellness presentation: Science of Forgiveness

CTF also hosted a staff-only session of the Resilience and Wellness Program presented by Charles Myles and Myhisha Myles of Powerful Days. The presentation, held in the Facility D Visiting Room, focused on the role of forgiveness as a scientifically recognized process that can support personal and professional resilience.

Topics addressed included:

  • The physiological and psychological components of forgiveness
  • How forgiveness practices can affect overall well-being
  • Approaches for releasing past stressors and improving clarity
  • Practical tools for strengthening resilience in daily work and life

All staff were invited to attend these events as part of CTF’s ongoing wellness initiative.

“By offering both preventive health services and resilience-based training, we are committed to supporting staff wellness through practical, accessible programs. These efforts contribute to a safer and healthier working environment for all personnel,” said acting Warden C. Rojas.
