Sandra Kester, a retired correctional case records analyst, passed away Nov. 28, 2025.

She began her career as an office assistant at Wasco State Prison-Reception Center in January 1991.
Three years later, in January 1994, she promoted to word-processing technician. Then she took the position of office services supervisor in October 1994.
Kester promoted once more in July 1996 as a correctional case records analyst, where she remained until retiring in December 2004.
“Sandra will be greatly missed by all those who knew and worked with her throughout her career,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Grace Baptist Church, 2250 Jewetta Ave. W, Bakersfield.
