Two recent searches led by the CDCR Central Region K-9 Unit turned up contraband at Gabilan Conservation Camp and Wasco State Prison-Reception Center.
The K-9s are specially trained in the detection of narcotics and unauthorized cell phones. The K-9 units are responsible for detecting illicit items that pose serious threats to security. Their ability to detect materials hidden in the most unlikely places is often the difference between a quiet day and a dangerous incident.
