The third annual CDCR Public Safety Career Fair at Sacramento City College on March 26 is creating quite the buzz. Danny Royster II, Event Coordinator for CDCR Peace Officer Recruitment, appeared in a four-minute segment on Fox40 News at “Studio40” Wednesday.
The event will run 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Sacramento City College’s Panther Parkway (Quad), at 3835 Freeport Blvd. in Sacramento.
Speaking to Studio40 host Gary Gelfand, Royster touted the over 30 public safety agencies across California in attendance, who will engage students and other participants who are interested in a career in public safety.
And these aren’t just correctional officer jobs.
“We’ll have all facets of CDCR, from our health care to our custody side, to our prison authority (Correctional Training and Rehabilitation Authority), to parole.” Royster said. “We’re there to engage with the community and share information on careers in public safety.”
Attendees will see specialized gear and vehicles used by participating agencies, and learn more about job roles, promotional opportunities and pay for those roles.
