CTF staff enjoy Coffee, Food Truck Pop‑Up Day

The Correctional Training Facility (CTF) recently hosted its monthly Coffee and Food Truck Pop-Up Day. Dubbed What’s for Lunch Wednesday, this staff wellness event is coordinated through the Community Resources Manager’s Office.

The event gives employees an opportunity to take a well-deserved break and enjoy a variety of local food options while supporting Monterey County’s small businesses.

Staff from neighboring Salinas Valley State Prison (SVSP) also stopped by to enjoy the event and support the participating vendors.

The day began with The Coffee Corner Pop-Up. This was followed by local food vendors serving authentic birria, fresh sushi, handcrafted lemonade and specialty beverages. The strong turnout and long lines reflected the enthusiasm of staff and the success of the event.

“Working in a correctional environment is demanding. Opportunities like What’s for Lunch Wednesday promote employee wellness by encouraging staff to recharge and connect with coworkers. It allows them to step away from the workplace for a well-deserved lunch break. At the same time, the event strengthens CTF’s partnership with the local community by supporting small businesses and helping local entrepreneurs reach new customers,” said acting Warden C. Rojas.
