The Riverside District of the Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO) conducted Operation Desert Guardian, a compliance sweep resulting in nine arrests.

Those involved included DAPO’s Community Compliance Unit, Office of Correctional Safety’s Felony Apprehension Team, Ironwood State Prison’s Investigation Services Unit, Riverside County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force Unit and the Cathedral City Police Department. CDCR’s Division of Adult Institutions’ Transportation Team also assisted in the operation.

Parole agents assigned to the Palm Springs Unit and Palm Springs GPS Unit were key members of the team.

Operation Desert Guardian focused on 33 supervised persons resulting in nine supervised persons being arrested. The arrests were made for various penal code violations as well as violating conditions of parole including possession of:

  • methamphetamine
  • weapon (knife)
  • ammunition
  • drug paraphernalia
  • pornographic material by a sex offender on parole
  • and alcohol as a special condition of parole.

The recent parole compliance operation was a success due to strong collaboration and commitment of law enforcement and community partners. DAPO thanked participating agencies who contributed personnel, expertise and resources to support the effort.
