Two Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO) sweeps resulted in seven arrests in Oceanside, Carlsbad and Riverside County.
Parole uncovers weapons, gang activity in Operation Oceanside Sunrise
Five people were arrested during a parole sweep by the Division of Adult Parole Operations in Oceanside and Carlsbad. Teams found violations ranging from weapons possession to gang activity.
Operation Oceanside Sunrise took place Aug. 26. It was carried out by the Escondido 1 and 2 GPS parole units, with support from Oceanside Police Department and the California Highway Patrol’s Crime Suppression Task Force.
Three teams conducted searches in both cities. The operation focused on seven supervised persons, including two sex offenders and five high-risk gang offenders.
Law enforcement arrested five people. Their violations included a current investigation into selling children’s toys online, access to a firearm, possession of gang paraphernalia and possession of a knife with a blade longer than two inches. Other violations included failing to charge a GPS device and gang participation.
Operation Sunset Time sex offender compliance results in arrests
Two people were arrested during a Sept. 3 sex offender compliance sweep in Riverside County.
Division of Adult Parole Operations agents and fugitive apprehension officers carried out Operation Sunset Time.
Parole agents from the Riverside 5 and 6 GPS units partnered with the Office of Correctional Safety’s Inland Empire Fugitive Apprehension Team for the joint effort. The operation focused on seven supervised persons living in several Riverside County cities who are required to register as sex offenders.
Two supervised persons were taken into custody for violations that included possession of pornographic material and alcoholic beverages, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a switchblade with a blade longer than two inches and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
