Healthcare Professional of the Year

2020 Healthcare Professional of the Year

The Healthcare Professional of the Year Award is given annually to the person or persons who work to provide efficient delivery of quality health care.

Recipient:

Sierra Robert, Public Health Registered Nurse at Mule Creek State Prison

Sierra Robert exemplifies the qualities of excellence and perseverance for the sake of public safety that define CDCR and CCHCS staff.

Under her public health expertise, she led the institution’s efforts to successfully prevent an outbreak. This was after a patient tested positive for tuberculosis.

Immediately upon detection of the case, she deployed teams to administer nearly 200 tuberculosis tests. The few positive patients were immediately isolated and received treatment.

Subsequently, four months and two rounds of testing later, the contagion was successfully contained. She and her team received expressions of gratitude from Amador County Public Health officials for their fast, expedient response.
