Recipient:

Doctor Briana Rojas, Chief Psychologist in CDCR’s Office of Employee Wellness

Dr. Rojas is a devoted and compassionate leader who has helped create sustainable physical and behavioral well-being programs for all employees and their families.

Under Dr. Rojas’ leadership, the Office of Employee Wellness was restructured to include clinical and custody classifications to provide a completely free, voluntary, and confidential mental health and support program for departmental employees.

Some of the Office of Employee Wellness programs and services include the Peer Support Program, Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Program, the CDCR Wellness app, the Employee Assistance Program, as well as counseling support, outreach, training, psychoeducation, psychological first aid, crisis counseling, and referral services.

This month, the Office of Employee Wellness will implement the standardized Peer Support Program, which equips peer supporters with the tools and resources needed to best support staff members who have been involved in critical incidents or traumatic events.
